PC Meeting - Transportation Element & LOS

On Thursday, June 21st, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers returned to Planning Commission to help host two public hearings: One on the proposed updates to the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan, and one on the proposed code updates.

CC Meeting - LOS, Modeling & TIP

On Tuesday, June 19th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers presented to the City Council on the use of innovative data for transportation, the strengths and limitations of the City’s traffic model, and presented results of an analysis considering a different morning peak hour. 

Staff also presented to City Council on the proposed six-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), requesting final adoption.

CC & PC Joint Meeting - Transportation Element

On Monday, June 4th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers presented to a joint session of the City Council and Planning Commission.  The presentation shared updates to the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan, based on feedback received at the April 30th joint meeting and discussed the travel models used to perform the transportation analysis.

On Tuesday, May 15th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers returned to City Council to seek guidance on the LOS policy to use for the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan, as well as in crafting the six-year Transportation Improvement Program.

On Monday, April 30th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers led a presentation for a joint session of the Sammamish City Council and Planning Commission, which provided an overview of recommended edits to the Comprehensive Plan’s Transportation Element. The scope of these edits were limited to only those that were related to Level of Service (LOS) and concurrency.

Council Presentation – Concurrency & LOS Update

On Tuesday, April 17th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers led a presentation for Sammamish City Council, which provided information on intersections that, based on expected growth and planned capital investments, are expected to not meet the City’s intersection level of service standard in 2024. This presentation provided staff recommendations of capital projects to be included on the City’s six-year Transportation Improvement Program to avoid deficiencies.

Council Presentation - Concurrency & LOS Update

On Monday, March 5th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers led a presentation for Sammamish City Council, which summarized how prior Council direction to move toward intersection-based level of service measures - which include both AM and PM peaks - would play out in the City’s current transportation program. The presentation also summarized a schedule for updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Concurrency policy by July 2018.

On Tuesday, February 13th, staff and representatives from transportation consultant Fehr & Peers led a presentation for Sammamish City Council, which provided an overview of the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) work conducted to date; the tools available to the City for transportation planning, and how the proposed concurrency/level of service (LOS) approach fits within these tools.
